Why stay in Punta Mogotes
Plenty of people search for a hotel in downtown Mar del Plata and end up sleeping eight blocks from a crowded beach. Punta Mogotes is the other decision: the widest and calmest beach in the city, with proper beach clubs, and the centre six kilometres away along the coast road, fifteen minutes by car or bus.
Hotel Soleares is in the heart of the neighbourhood, on General Ángel Pacheco at number 2168. Step outside, walk two hundred metres and you are on the sand. Round the corner there is a bakery, a kiosk and a grill; a kilometre and a half away the Port Nature Reserve begins, with its sea lions and yellow fishing boats; and four kilometres away stands the Lighthouse, still the best sunset walk in Mar del Plata.
This is the area chosen by families who come back every summer, by surfers heading for the South Breakwater, and by anyone who wants a beach without having to fight for a parasol.

By car
Route 2 to Mar del Plata, then Av. Juan B. Justo or the coast road south towards Punta Mogotes. The hotel is on Gral. Ángel Pacheco at 2168.
From the bus terminal
About 10 km, roughly 20 minutes by taxi. Local buses also run to Punta Mogotes.
From the airport
Astor Piazzolla International Airport is 17 km away, about 25 minutes by car.
By train
Mar del Plata station is 10 km from the hotel; from there, a taxi or bus to Punta Mogotes.
